THE BACK STORY

Moving For Equity Dancing Action is an organization designed to bring movement and the pursuit of equity together.  Founding director, Dr. Nyama McCarthy-Brown creates embodied experiences (experiential learning) that actively focus on equity and dismantling structures of oppression. McCarthy-Brown established Moving For Equity after a year creating workshops that were on constant high demand from dancers, dance educators, and students.  Workshops seek to lead participants in a process to examining their positionally in dance and in their dance classrooms, while engaging the body inside of this reflective experience.
